Second Sunday in Lent | Year B

May you depart knowing the invitation of God, to move
- from comfort to insecurity
- from what we know to what we have yet to discover
- from where we have been to where we have yet to go
- from safety to a place of risk
Go in the example of the saints before you,
the Israelites in the wilderness,
Paul blinded in Damascus.

Go in the name of Jesus Christ,
who said ‘follow me’ without saying where he was going,
just promising transformation and relationship
with the Triune God along the way.

We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
In the name of Christ. Amen.

First Sunday in Lent | Year B

Go now, and live in the spirit of your baptism,
even when you are led into wild and hard places.
With repentance and trust, give yourselves to God,
and with fasting and prayer,
strengthen yourselves against the ways of the tempter.

And may God enfold you in tender and lasting love.
May Christ be beside you in times of struggle.
And may the Spirit guide you back to the path whenever you stray,
that you may keep the covenant.

We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
In the name of Christ. Amen.

Transfiguration Sunday | Year B

Like Peter said to Jesus: “It is good for us to be here.”
But also like Peter, we know it is not good for us to stay.

So we come down the mountain,
Back to our days,
into our homes
and into our communities.

We come down
having seen the glory hidden in everything
We come down,
ready to walk the difficult path into Lent.
A path which leads to the undoing of death.

We go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Fifth Sunday After the Epiphany | Year B

Now hear these words from the prophet Isaiah:

Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,they shall walk and not faint.

If you are in need of prayer, members of the prayer team will be at the cross immediately following the service.
Go in peace.
Be all things to all people for the sake of the good news of the Lord.
In the name of Christ. Amen

Third Sunday After the Epiphany | Year B

Go now, follow where Christ calls you
and proclaim the message God gives you.
Wait in hope for God.
Avoid becoming bound up in the business of the world,
but live in readiness for the inbreaking of the Kingdom.

May God be your haven and your glory;
May Christ Jesus give you courage for his mission;
And may the Spirit embrace your soul in God’s silence.

We go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Amen

Second Sunday After the Epiphany | Year B

Now receive this benediction:

We go out to serve the Lord
Who creates us and loves us;
Who gifts us with diversity and makes us for community;
Who gives Jesus Christ to show us how to live;
Who inspires children, youth, young adults, and people of all ages,
To seek justice, share power,
and live together in love and equality;
Who invites us to join the struggle for wholeness and well-being for all,
and whose presence, grace, and love
sustain us in our living.
We go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
Amen.

The Baptism of our Lord | Year B

Now receive this benediction:

As our time of worship closes,
our time of service in the world continues.
In our time together we have re-committed ourselves
to live out our Baptismal faith,
which means we go as people who have been washed
by water and by the Spirit.
We go out as Spirit-filled people,
ready to fulfill the vocation God has given us,
to share the love and justice of God with the world.
And as we go out to live and serve,
we trust that God lives and serves with us.

We go in peace, to love and serve the Lord. Amen.

First Sunday After Christmas | Year B

Now receive this benediction:

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;
those who lived in deepest night, are lit up with a brilliant sight.
Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.
The spread of his influence and of his peace will never end.
Therefore, go out into the world with great joy,
and the grace of Bethlehem’s matchless Child,
the love of the God who never ceases to amaze,
and the fellowship of the Spirit who never wearies,
will be with you this holy night and evermore.
We go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Amen.

Fourth Sunday in Advent | Year B

God of love, Father of all, the darkness that covered the earth has given way to the bright dawn of your Word made flesh. Make us a people of this light. Make us faithful to your Word that we may bring your life to the waiting world. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Now Receive this Benediction:

May you be filled with the wonder of Mary,
the obedience of Joseph,
the joy of the angels,
the eagerness of the shepherds,
the determination of the magi,
and the peace of the Christ child.
We go in Peace, Hope, Joy, and Love to serve the Lord.

Second Sunday in Advent | Year B

Now receive this benediction:

Go now: wait and work for the coming of the day of God.
In the wild places prepare a straight path for the Lord.
Lead lives of holiness and godliness,
strive to be found at peace,
and speak freely of the Lord’s comfort and promise.

And may God our shepherd gather you in loving arms;
May Christ Jesus reconcile justice and peace within you;
And may the Holy Spirit baptize you into the life of God.

We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
In the name of Christ. Amen.

First Sunday in Advent | Year B

Now receive this benediction:

Watch out! Be alert!
Christ comes when you least expect it.
     In the beggar on the street,
     In the loved one at our table,
     In the stranger in our pew,
     In the refugee on our shores,
     In the hour of our birth.
     In the hour of our death.
With judgment and mercy, Christ comes.
So watch out, and be alert.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the love of God,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you now and always.
Amen!

Proper 29 | Year A

Now receive this benediction:

As you have been fed, go to feed the hungry.
As you have been set free, go to set free the imprisoned.

And the blessing which you have received
from the Creator, Christ, and Holy Spirit
be always with you.
We go in Peace to love and serve the Lord.
Amen.

Go now, and live as children of the light.
Put on the breastplate of faith and love,
and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

and encourage one another in Christ.

And may God’s hand be open to you in kindness;
May Christ Jesus welcome you into his joy;

In the name of Christ. Amen.

Proper 26 | Year A

Now receive this benediction:

Go now, in the freedom of the gospel of Christ.
Encourage one another to lead lives worthy of God
and walk together in service and humility.
Let your words and your lives be one in Christ.

And may the God of lasting love open the way before you;
May Jesus the Messiah be your one instructor;
And may the Holy Spirit lead you on
into the promised land of God’s kingdom and glory.

We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
In the name of Christ. Amen.

Proper 25 | Year A

Now receive this benediction:

Hear this: the Lord our God is the one and only Lord.
Therefore go out into the world
and love the Lord your God
with all your heart, soul, mind and strength,
and love others as you love yourself.

And may God give you justice and freedom;
May Christ Jesus set you free to love;
and may the Holy Spirit go where you go
and protect you on your way.

We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
In the name of Christ. Amen.

Proper 24 | Year A

Now receive this benediction:

Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Send us out to live lives that glorify you
Help us to be people of peace
Empower us to recognize your call
In our families
In our communities
In our work places and schools
In our churches and in our world.
Let us go in Peace to love and serve the Lord.
Amen.

Proper 23 | Year A

Now receive this benediction:

Be glad in the Lord always!
Focus your thoughts on all that is true,
all that is holy, all that is just,
all that is pure, all that is lovely,
and all that is worthy of praise.
And the peace of God—
peace that goes far beyond anything we can comprehend—
that peace will guard your hearts and minds
as you live in Christ Jesus.
So go from here with confidence and joy,
to serve the Lord.
